Janet Orlando has been a 5th teacher at St. Mary’s School since September 1998. She is the fifth grade Math and Science teacher and also teaches Reading, Religion and Spelling. Besides teaching, Janet works the school’s After School Program which she enjoys because it allows her to work with and get to know so many of the younger children in our school. Janet co-coordinates the Natural Helpers program which is a peer helping group composed of 6th, 7th & 8th graders, and also co-coordinates the Student Council. Janet also currently serves on the school’s Strategic Planning Committee.

Janet attended St. Aedan School in New Haven for grades K – 8 and then graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven in 1990. In 1994 she graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. with a BS degree in Elementary Education and a BS degree in Special Education. Janet has taken courses at Sacred Heart University, working towards a Master’s Degree in Parochial school administration.
